What causes keys to snap inside locks?
Usually, there is a combination of factors. In most cases, the user applies too much sideway pressure on the key bow while the key blade has already been slightly bent or weakened. As a result, the blade breaks while being inside the keyway. In other cases, when the lock is sticky, the user tries harder to turn the key and that action may result in snapping.
I get the feeling the key turns with the lock. Why?
The news is not usually good. When the door locks turn along with the key, it is often the indication of a broken component. In this case you can't avoid lock replacement. Though, there is a small possibility that the cylinder is loose and must be tightened. The lock must be checked.
What can I do to avoid burglaries?
Burglaries are avoided with the installation of resistant new age security door locks, additional systems, and thief deterrents. Our professionals remind customers that all such systems must be armed and entry points locked at all times. Discourage thieves by installing more lights around the house.
